Pick your land
Click a plot on the map or find one in the list. When you request it, the GM gets a message and approves it by hand. After that your nation starts on that land, and its economy and army are based on what the land is like. Better land means more people. You won't see the resources until the plot is yours. You can play in the Long War at the same time with the same Discord name.
Grew out of a single trading post that outlasted the war it was built during, expanding across this a hard mountain frontier turn by turn until "post" stopped being an accurate word for it. Its early governance leaned heavily on Christonian administrative practice, adopted wholesale by settlers who had no functioning institutions of their own to fall back on. A real river runs through the territory, which shaped where the first permanent buildings went up. This is a starting point, not a finished history -- the founding government, its name, and everything since are yours to write once the plot is claimed.
Never part of any pre-war state at all -- this near-arctic wilderness was empty and unclaimed until postwar migration pushed people into it looking for land that hadn't been fought over. Luluke merchants were the first outside power to trade here consistently, and the relationship never really ended -- half the old contracts still get honored out of habit. This is a starting point, not a finished history -- the founding government, its name, and everything since are yours to write once the plot is claimed.
Settled in the resettlement decades after the Third Aridexian War by refugees who had nowhere else standing to go back to, this near-arctic wilderness was rebuilt from almost nothing rather than handed down from any pre-war government. One of the five Anestrian successor states quietly backed its founding, hoping for a friendly neighbor rather than another contested border -- a debt the locals still argue about repaying. This is a starting point, not a finished history -- the founding government, its name, and everything since are yours to write once the plot is claimed.
A breakaway administrative district that split cleanly from a larger successor state once the immediate postwar chaos settled, choosing to govern this dense timber country on its own terms rather than remain a distant province. Deep Space Human Preservation ran a relay station here during the reconstruction and never fully left -- its presence still shapes who gets taken seriously in local politics. This is a starting point, not a finished history -- the founding government, its name, and everything since are yours to write once the plot is claimed.
What exists here today began as a relief camp for survivors of the 1300 AE strikes, sited on dry, marginal desert fringe because it was defensible and far from the ash. Three generations on, the camp is a nation in its own right. A wave of All-Finian islanders, left with no government at all after the Empire dissolved, make up a real and vocal minority of the founding population. This is a starting point, not a finished history -- the founding government, its name, and everything since are yours to write once the plot is claimed.

Founded as a veteran land-grant settlement -- demobilized soldiers from the reconstruction militias given near-arctic wilderness to work in exchange for keeping the peace here, back when nobody else wanted the job. It answers to no one, by design -- the founding charter was written explicitly to avoid entanglement with any of the postwar successor governments. This is a starting point, not a finished history -- the founding government, its name, and everything since are yours to write once the plot is claimed.
